A busy mum-of-two who lost 56 kilos naturally after ditching her coffee and fast food addictions has revealed what it takes to keep the weight off.
Cicily Goodwin, 27, from Nambucca Heads in NSW says regular exercise, a strict supermarket budget and meal planning are key.
The mum would binge on 10 coffees a day and was a regular customer at KFC before deciding to make healthier choices.
Cicily who tipped the scales at 128kg lost about 700 grams every week on her 15 month journey to health with The Healthy Mummy.

She now admits it took her years to realise she had a ‘toxic relationship with food’.
‘I’ve always had a lot of trouble losing weight despite going on countless diets and trying my hardest over and over again,’ she said.
‘I didn’t care if I ate healthy because it didn’t seem to matter. I think that’s where a big part of my health issues started.’
She now spends $150 a week on groceries for her entire family, feeding them chicken fajitas, stir fry, lamb chops and slow cooked meals for dinner.
She also logs all of her meals and exercise to help keep herself accountable and on track each week.
Last week she skipped her work out on Monday and Friday, walked 5km on Tuesday and Thursday, did a Pilates challenge on Wednesday and did two core workouts over the weekend.
And she insists eating well and losing weight while providing healthy options for the whole family doesn’t have to be boring.
Cicily said she didn’t stop going out for dinner or eating chocolate and instead ‘lived through it and enjoyed it’
‘On Sunday I like to have a yummy family breakfast so I started the day with the Vanilla and Cinnamon Waffles. They are a favourite of mine. I had them with the Coconut and Vanilla Ice Cream and unsweetened warm berries,’ she said.
She also revealed she ‘used all of the vegetables in the fridge’ which was a goal for the whole family.
‘I used to get disheartened by a ‘bad day’. I now know I can move forward and still achieve amazing results, so instead I try to use it as motivation to do better the next day,’ she said.
What is Cicily’s day on a plate?
BREAKFAST: Smoothie with fruits such as mango and pineapple.
SNACK: Healthy sesame chia chocolate.
LUNCH: Smoothie or stuffed mushrooms.
SNACK: Healthy chocolate chip muffin.
DINNER: Healthy chicken parmigiana or some protein with vegetables or salad.

The mum previously revealed how ‘losing weight slowly’ proved to be better for her in the long term and notes she ‘doesn’t make time for exercise every day’.
‘A lot of people aim big like 2kg but for me that just didn’t work. I decided to take a moderate and relaxed approach to my weight loss and it worked.’
Cicily said she didn’t stop going out for dinner or eating chocolate and instead ‘lived through it and enjoyed it’.
‘Make it enjoyable! Don’t destroy yourself trying to lose 2kg a week. 700g is the magic number! That’s still 36kg a year, who wouldn’t be happy with that?’
Now 73kg, Cicily is the lightest she has been since she was 13 years old.
‘Even if it wasn’t junk I would pile my plate high until it was uncomfortably full,’ she said.
Cicily would typically drink as many as 10 coffees per day, alongside multiple takeaway meals from KFC and McDonald’s
‘Drink three litres of water, do 10,000 steps, enjoy smoothies filled with fruit and superfoods for breakfast, do 100 squats (if you can) and make a freezer stash of meals,’ she said
In 2016, Cicily stumbled upon leading Australian weight loss program The Healthy Mummy when she was researching weight loss online.
She soon started drinking the company’s smoothies twice a day and coupling these with healthy versions of her favourite meals including lasagne.
Within a few months, Cicily lost over 20 kilos without spending any time in the gym; she stuck to hour-long walks when she had the time.
‘I didn’t rush things, I was still enjoying chocolate every now and then, but I cut out all soft drinks and followed The Healthy Mummy meals plans,’ she said.
Cicily said that while losing the weight was difficult, the hardest thing has been keeping the kilos off.

‘I am now a better version of who I was – that person wasn’t me, it was a shadow of who I was. I know I will never go back there,’ she said
‘Maintaining weight loss is a whole different ball game because the natural response to weight loss is weight gain,’ Cicily said.
‘But I’m proud of myself because I have pretty much remained the same weight.’
For those looking to overhaul their health in 2022, Cicily has a simply checklist that she swears by.
‘This is something I did through my 56kg loss to keep perspective and keep pushing,’ she said.
‘Drink three litres of water, do 10,000 steps, enjoy smoothies filled with fruit and superfoods for breakfast, do 100 squats (if you can) and make a freezer stash of meals.
Cicily hopes other women see that consistency has a far better success rate than any quick fix fad
‘It’s that easy! Create your list, and tell yourself “this is all I have to do today to get to my goal”. You may even feel the motivation to do more.’

‘People think you need to do drastic things to lose weight, but I have found this approach to be so much more realistic and I can just do all my exercise at home,’ she said.
‘I am now a better version of who I was – that person wasn’t me, it was a shadow of who I was. I know I will never go back there.’
‘I am normal now and can do normal things and I am so happy. It is a challenge at first but it’s so worth it and if you mess up, you can just start again, do the best you can when you can – and you won’t regret it.’
